Just released - Interactive Online Irish Course

So after a LOAD of hard work we've released the first 20 lessons of our interactive Irish lessons, based on the classic Buntús Cainte course. It's taken us longer than we expected but we think it was well worth it. Our course is gorgeous and we believe it's the best Irish language course ever published online.

We've taken the text and audio from the book course and we've commissioned fantastic new colour graphics, added grammar notes and quizzes, to create a fun new way to learn Irish. The 20 lessons should take you around 10 hours to complete - and give you a really solid introduction to the Irish language.

You can learn more about the course here:

You can find out what's covered in each individual lesson in our lesson list here:

As usual, you can try before you buy - view the first lesson for free here:

How much money does it cost to take those lessons in American dollars?

    Hi Josh,

I use the website xe.com to check out realtime exchange rates. As of today, €20 EUR is worth approximately $28 USD.

Of course, exchange rates change all the time so by the time you buy the course, the price in dollars might be slightly higher or lower than this. It's because of this fluctuation that we didn't post a definitive dollar equivalent price for the course - but I guess it could be helpful - what do you think?.

    Ádh mór,
    Michelle

My wife is a primary school teacher from Northern Ireland. She has a temporary post in Raheny, Dublin, but she can't speak Irish. I'll definitely be sending her this way. Looks great.

    Hi Michelle,

I just took my first Irish lesson online and I loved it!  It was worth the extra wait and thank you for your hard work!

New Jersey, ta se fuar!  I have to teach my computer an Irish keyboard with accents.

    Dia Duit, a Deb,

Ná bac leis, a chara!  Níl tú amháin.  Nílim in ann ach beagán Gaeilge a fhios agam.  Tá mé ag foghlaim freisin.  Ar mhaith leat  amhain eile mar cara a scríobh?  Tá an-áthas orm bualadh leat.  Slán go fóill, Éilis

    So Hi there, Deb,

Very hopefully I have said something like: Don't worry, my friend.  You are not alone.  I only know a little Irish.  I am learning also.  Would you like  (attempted...to write each other as friends?)  I'm very glad to meet you.  By for now, Liz

So yeah I'm also beginning and still can't say very much.  If you want to add each other as friends or stay in touch or something let me know. :-)

Our online course doesn't work on iPad right now. But we're about to release a brand new version of the course as a native iPad app. Sign up here to get notified when it's available: http://buntuscainte.com
