aici - what does that mean?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think:
aici = at her (preposition "ag" (at) combined with personal pronoun)
To say "have" in Irish, don't you have to say that an object is "at" someone?
(Literally translated, the sentence would read: "An ugly dog is at her.")
Is this correct??
Just busy trying to learn this rule at the mo!
Rebecca, you are right. There is no "to have" in Irish. You have to say
"stands ______________ at me/at you/at him/at her/at we/at you pl/at they.
agam aginn
agat agibh
aige/aici acu
I think,
FaberM
Tá madadh gránna agam. ( Stands (a) dog ugly at me.)
